Indian Chai

Again, thanks for Jennifer who got this recipe from India. It’s for one cup.


  • a black tea bag
  • one cardamom, pod crushed but with seeds still inside
  • a pea size of grated ginger
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1/4 a cup of water
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Other possible options:

  • 1 cloves
  • a dash of cinnamon (1/8 of a teaspoon!)


  1. put all dry ingredients with the water in a pot
  2. heat the content until just starting to boil, then let it simmer for 5 min
  3. pour in the milk and sugar and heat until foams
  4. discard the tea bag and pour through a little sieve into a cup
